Design and carve your own printing block and create exciting repeat patterns you can print on paper and fabric. This workshop is part of The Blank Page Project.
Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include a free lunch, drinks and snacks!
In this workshop we will be exploring the traditional craft of block printing using the technique of lino cutting. Each student will begin by drawing and creating their own repeat designs ready to transfer to the lino. They will carve blocks using the tools and make repeat patterns that can be printed onto fabric and paper.
Please feel free to bring in any old t-shirts/fabrics or items of your own form home that you might like to upcycle. Come and have a fun and busy day of printing!
The wellbeing of our young people is really important to us and time outdoors is a key part of that. With this in mind, where possible a short walk or time outdoors will be incorporated into the workshop days. This will be supervised by the staff running the workshops and will also be weather dependent. Please ensure your child has a coat and sensible footwear!
