What to expect
Join author Rebecca Goss for this poetry writing workshop at Ipswich County Library, as part of our Wild Reads project! Explore how to capture the slowing of time, the easing of memory, the ways we find ourselves changed in wild spaces.
The writer and environmentalist Roger Deakin once wrote ‘To enter a wood is to pass into a different world in which we ourselves are transformed.’ In this poetry writing workshop you will consider the mental and physical shifts that occur when we immerse ourselves in nature, particularly the landscape of Suffolk. Using material that records the county’s pastoral embrace, you will discuss what it means to have a deep, lasting attachment with the East Anglian countryside.
