Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2025 takes place from 19–25 May, highlighting the positive impact that creativity can have on our mental and emotional wellbeing. Across Suffolk, a wide range of community organisations are offering opportunities to get involved in the arts, nature, dance, and more—helping residents to feel better, connect with others, and express themselves through creativity.
Whether you're exploring art for the first time, reconnecting with a lost passion, or seeking new ways to support your wellbeing, there’s something for everyone. Here's a few of our favourite creative organisations -
Inside Out Community – Arts for Mental Health in Ipswich
Inside Out Community runs creative wellbeing workshops in visual arts, movement, music, and writing for adults experiencing mental health challenges. Their professional artists lead weekly studios and in-depth programmes designed to support emotional recovery and connection.

Suffolk Artlink – Inclusive Arts Projects Across East Suffolk
Suffolk Artlink creates inclusive community arts programmes that bring joy, confidence and wellbeing to people of all ages. They have a changing offer of art workshops for learning-disabled and neurodivergent adults, mental health wellbeing projects delivered in partnership with Suffolk Libraries, and free musical activities for children aged 0–5 and their families.

DanceEast – Movement and Wellbeing for All Ages
DanceEast, in partnership with dance instructors across Suffolk, offer weekly sessions for everyone over 55, which boost mental and physical health, include a chance to socialise and connect with others, but most importantly to have fun. Sessions are run in Felixstowe, Hadleigh, Stowmarket, Sudbury, Debenham, and Lowestoft.
Suffolk Wildlife Trust – Creativity in Nature
Suffolk Wildlife Trust offers “Wild Wellbeing” activities across their reserves, including mindful walks, nature-inspired crafts and sketching. Sessions at sites like Carlton Marshes and Lackford Lakes encourage creative connection with the outdoors to support mental health.

The Seagull Theatre – Creative Expression in Lowestoft
The Seagull Theatre runs inclusive creative workshops and performances for the Lowestoft community. Their wellbeing choirs, drama sessions, and storytelling groups offer safe, expressive spaces for all ages and abilities.

Men’s Sheds Suffolk – Practical Creativity and Social Connection
Men’s Sheds provide welcoming spaces for people to come together and work on hands-on creative projects like woodworking, upcycling and restoration. With locations in Lowestoft, Leiston, Saxmundham and more, they support wellbeing through shared purpose and friendship.
