When you lose someone, the grief will never go away completely — but there are healthy ways to cope. Some people find that gardening as they grieve, can gently relieve some of the emotional and physical symptoms after the loss of a loved one. Gardening has many therapeutic benefits; it’s a sensory process of creating and healing, packed with colour, texture and fragrance, rain or shine. Gardens are both active to work and restful to sit in, helping us to relax and let go, taking a break away from our worries to breathe in nature.
The Bereavement Gardening Group is led by our Garden Manager at The Red House and aims to support individuals by restoring peaceful connections with the rhythms and patterns of the lifecycle, it is an opportunity to connect with others who have been bereaved and get involved in garden maintenance work.
Join us on the first Thursday of each month 11.00 - 1.00pm , booking essential, 8 places per session.
Please wear stout shoes (walking shoes or wellies) and appropriate clothes for gardening.

How to get here
There are two car parks available onsite - the main car park is via the main circular drive and the overflow car park is the next turning on the left. There is a disabled space in car park 2.
Bus no. 64 stops at Linden Road, Aldeburgh, 0.4 miles from The Red House, running hourly to and from Saxmundham, Wickham Market, Woodbridge and Ipswich.
