Local photographer Chris has visited Svalbard’ an archipelago half way between north Norway and the north pole, where it is dark for 4 months of the year and the temperature seldom rises above 5 degrees, even in summer. But much wildlife thrives, together with about 2,500 humans and 1,000 polar bears.
No booking required, just come along.
We now have a card reader, and would prefer this to be used for entry donations if this is possible, but if not, cash is of course acceptable.

How to get here
There is a small amount of parking by the Methodist Church. The closest public car park is NCP Tower Ramparts on Crown Street (IP1 3DH), which is open 24 hours a day, Monday to Sunday. The council-run Crown Street Car Park (IP1 3HS) also offers ample parking, just a couple of minutes walk away, and is open from 8am until 6.30pm (with a later closing time of 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday).
The church is located 5-6 minutes walk from Tower Ramparts Bus Station, a hub for bus routes from all around Ipswich and the surrounding areas.
